A sip or bite, with a side of late-summer breezes

Food always tastes better alfresco, especially if you’re sitting on a front porch with a view. Here are just a handful of lovely places in our area that will satisfy that craving.
The Western Hotel
Continuing the Callicoon theme, this 1852 eatery is listed on the National Historic Register. Sit anywhere on the two-story covered terrace and picture an imaginary pistol duel (we’d bet on the white-hat dude). Open Mondays and Fridays for lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers brunch and dinner on the weekends. After you stuff yourself, roll into bed in one of the beautifully updated six guest rooms.
